Kissimmee, Fla. – The fourth-ranked softball team recorded a 2-0 victory over Denison at the Rebel Spring Games to improve to 9-2 on the season. Junior pitcher Carly Myers (Claremont Secondary/Victoria, British Columbia) tossed a three hitter and registered five strike outs to record her first complete-game shutout of the season.

 

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when junior Nicole Cade (Beaverton/Portland, Ore.) delivered a pinch hit single to score junior second baseman Jessica Stangarone (Brewster/Brewster) from second base and give the Bombers a 1-0 lead.

 

Two batters later junior shortstop Erica Cutspec (Fort Plain/Fort Plain) plated freshman #Alyssa Brook (Monmouth Regional/Tinton Falls, N.J.) from third base with a sacrifice fly to center field. Cade and Cutspec each went 1-for-2 at the plate with one RBI and Stangarone finished 2-for0three with a run scored.

 

The Bombers next take on Fontbonne at 5 p.m. at the Rebel Spring Games.
